New home for the hive

Theres been to much burning of branches and leaves from thinning of the woodland where my hive was positioned. The reason you use a smoker on bees is to trick them into thinking theres a forest fire or similar, by doing this they gorge themselves on honey. As its a carb this pacifies them so inspections are easier. I found them very agitated on a couple of occasions and put this down to the smoke. So Ive found them a new home in a clearing sheltered from the biting northerlies we get in winter by a straw bale cabin, rendered in lime. The owners really into nature and has always wanted bees on her land. In exchange for her kindness Im going to teach her bee keeping. Thanks Pat ;-)

303 Aerospace

Ive been reading about looking after fins over on mypaipoboards.org . Ive left  my summer fins out in the sun for days on end, letting them sun bathe for hours until there scorching. Their into their? fifth year and showing signs of fading and a few little stress marks on the straps,  I  really don't want them to snap as I hate throwing stuff away. The 303 aerospace protectant promises to be water based and has good reviews so I'm going to give it a go. You can find it on ebay..

Definite improvement...straps seem more flexy and the rubbers nourished!
